# 21: Podcasts

I have to say at the outset that I don’t like podcasts. I’d prefer to read rather than listen, whether it’s instructions, lectures, whatever.. It’s a personal thing – I’d rather read a book than watch a movie.

However. That’s just how I see things, so I’ll now turn my attention to the idea of podcasts in libraries. Podcast.net does require a software download to”fully enjoy” (whatever that means) the podcasts on this listing. Well, that’s what it said on the site, but it seemed to work OK without it. Anyway, I downloaded Juice (Question – would a customer be able to do this in a public library?)

Had a listen to a couple of podcasts – one from the Podcast.net site called Shift break, and another from PodcastAlley. I've subscribed to both of these, but I suspect I'll be unsubscribing very soon. Both of these sites, would be valuable if you were looking for particular podcasts.
Perhaps podcasts could be used for instructions - using the online catalogue, for example, or "What's on in the library"

Thanks for the links. I like listening to podcasts when I am driving and other times when a book wouldn't be handy.
